Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Sponsored by The Twinery

I  love using somne baker's twine on projects!  It's light, two-tones and adds such a fun, playful look to projects.  When I found out that The Twinery was sponsoring us over at Tuesday Throwdown, I was over the moon!  They have such a fabulous color selection and their twine is so soft and easy to work with.  Our challenge this week was to make your own background, which isn't one of my strong points, but I tried none the less!

I used this sweet stamp, Adorable Cinderella, from The Paper Shelter and she helped a bit with making a background!

I love her!  Isn't this twine just gorgeous?  I used Marigold and Tangerine around my layers to give them some color and add some texture to my card.  My little beauty is sitting on her bench on the side of the road, waiting for her ride home since she seems to have misplaced a slipper!  She's colored with copics and had some Stickles added to her dress.  The bling around her tiara and pumpkin are from my Jelly Roll glitter pen and the papers are from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean paper pack.

There's just something about this adorable face I couldn't resist!

Here's a couple of side views of her that I think shows off the twine.  I plan on entering her in the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe Crafts - favorite color combination (blue and orange!)
2 Sisters Challenge - blue and/or green

Come on over to our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog and show us how you can make fabulous backgrounds!  And take a look at the fabulous projects my designing buddies have in store for you.  They are truly amazing!

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorships!

Gotta apologize for being so late in getting this up.  I thought for sure it was set to be published but ended up in my drafted section.  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring two really great challenges this week.  One is for ATC's With Attitude and their theme is spring.  The other is Chocolate, Coffee and Cards and they had a gorgeous picture for inspiration.  I decided to combine them and use Cowgirl Debbie and think she rocks!

This was my first ATC that I've ever done and it was pretty fun!  She's colored with copics and has Stickles on her hat band, gun, top, gloves, and boots.  The papers are from DCWV All Dressed Up and I thought they were perfect for this sassy cowgirl and to compliment the inspirational photo.  Here's a pic of it:

Here's a couple of side views of her.

I added a different card stock to the back since I didn't want it to just be white.

I had a lot of fun playing along with both of these challenges and think I may look for some more ATC challenges.  A new fun experience!  Come on over because there's still time to join in the fun challenges!  Take a walk on the wild side.  My Cowgirl Debbie will protect you!

Allie's, I Mean, Pati's Kisses for the Digi Bells

When I saw this adorable digi from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection, I knew I had to have her!  She reminds me so much of my granddaughter, Allie.  Her mom has been winning her some stuffed animals out of a machine that she has at her work.  When she bring them home, Allie holds them up and acts like each one of them is the best present she's ever received!  It's my day to post over at The Digi Bells Design Team Blog and this cutie kept coming to my mind.

I colored her with Copics and added a little bit of stickles to her hair tie, bear and shirt.  She also has some Diamond glaze on her headband.  The papers are some older paper from Daisy D papers, the green card stock is from DCWV and the gems are from Cloud 9.  The layout is from the Deconstructed Sketch.  I'm entering her in their challenge.

I  just love her sweet self!

Here's a peek at the inside.

This sweetie made me think of the Gingerbread House I did this year for the store.

Santa Pin Up for Sassy Studio Designs

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge over at Dream Valley Challenge Blog today and their theme is "Christmas".  I have been doing a lot with red and green lately and I decided to go with a non traditional color for Christmas.  Here's my Santa Pin Up in blues.

I think she's so sexy and sassy!  She's colored with copics and the papers are from the Arctic Winter pack from DCWV.  The crystal swirls are from Close to My Heart, Stickles are all over her suit and hat and Glossy Accents are on her belt and boots.  I used Spellbinders to cut out my image and the snowflake punch is from Martha Stewart.  I distressed around the edges of the papers and added some Distressed Inks around the edges.

Here's a close up of this sassy gift giver:

These side views give a peek into the inside.

Prize: What a Fox Stamp Set

Here's my project for this challenge:

Saying "Thank you", isn't something I think we do enough.  I love this sweet image called Lemon Pepper from the Cottage Cuties by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps.  You know how I love some Elisabeth Bell images!  Isn't she the cutest thing?  I won her and just had to create something special with her.  I love the little bird she's blowing kisses to and since being here with mom, I've become very thankful for the sweet chirp of the birds that gather around all the bird feeders in the yard.  They faithfully come every day and we never let them down and always have something for them to eat.

This beauty is colored with copics and my Close to My Heart alcohol markers (which I love by the way!) and is cutout with my Floral Ovals by Spellbinders.  I inked the edges with Broken Glass Distress Ink and the gems are from Studio 112.  I added some Stickles to her sweet little outfit and some Glossy Accents to the balloon.  The baker's twine and the sentiment on the inside are from Close to My Heart and the ribbon is from my stash.  The gorgeous papers are from the Autumn Melody packs from DCWV.

Make sure to stop by the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog and see what my awe inspiring and ever so talented design team buddies have come up to show their thanks.  I promise you won't be disappointed!  Take some time to join us and show someone some thanks.  We'd love to see what you come up with!

September Morning Glories for Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

This week over at Tuesday Throwdown, we're being sponsored by Heart Song Designs and the theme is Thankful for you.  You can visit our blog for all the details and to see all my design team buddies inspiring projects.   I chose September Morning Glories because I'm thankful mostly for my family that God blessed me with.

Morning glories are one of my favorite flowers.  They're strong, beautiful, and they keep on coming back year after year, more abundant that the year before.  When I was young and growing up in West Virginia, my grandmother had morning glories that grew all along the fence between her yard and ours.  During the summer, she would be on her side and I would be on mine.  She would let me pop three a day but she would pick the three out.  I learned later that they were the ones that were already dying and wouldn't bloom again.  I would come home later in the morning from playing down the road with my friends and the blooms would be so big, pink, blue, and violet.  They were so beautiful and I always associate morning glories with Mommy Walsh.

This image is colored with copics and Spectrum Noir markers and while I know morning glories aren't peach, that's the glory of coloring up your own images!  I added some Stickles to show the glow of morning dew that falls on them.  I cut the image out and framed it with Nestabilities and added a bow to the edge.  The papers are from the Autumn Melody paper stack from DCWV and the gems are from Studio 112.

Here's a side glimpse of the lace border I used with a Martha Stewart punch.

Here's the inside.  The sentiment is from the So Grateful set from Close to My Heart.  Love that set!  I have been blessed with a harvest of memories of my time spent with my grandmother and this sentiment says it all for me.

My strength and joy comes from my family.  It always has and always will.  Make sure to stop over at the Tuesday Throwdown blog and join us in showing what you're thankful for.  Can't wait to see!

50 Shades of Sassy and Celebrating 800 Members!

Everyone is talking about the Fifty Shades of Grey series.  It's hot, it's sexy, it's entertaining, it's dull, it's shocking, it's ____________, you fill in your thoughts on it!  One things for sure is everyone has an opinion about it.  But for me, today Fifty Shades is a reason to celebrate because we finally reached 800 members over at our Sassy Studio Designs Paper Craft Planet Group!  I'll take any reason to party and celebrate!  I love that there are 800 people out there in cyber crafting world that love the images that Lindsay creates for us to color up and play with as much as I do.  Not only do we get to build friendships with people we have something in common with, but we get some freebies along the way with this bunch!

Over at the group, Lindsay has a super fun extra image for us to have some fun with, so let's celebrate Fifty Shades of Sassy!  If you've come here for Alaine's blog, you're on the right track.  If not, here's the order:

Starla:  http://youcouldbewishingonastar.blogspot.com/
Carrie:  http://carrieshandmadecards.blogspot.co.uk/
Regan: http://charmedstamping.blogspot.com/

Regan, our oh so fun and talented coordinator for this fun ride, has challenged us to use black, white, and grey.  Here's my take on Miss Fifty Shades of Sassy:

Isn't she something?  I had the greatest time with her!  This confident lady is colored with copics and Spectrum Noir markers and her shoes and clothing (what there is of it!) is highlighted with Diamond Glaze and the background is cut with my Nestabilities dies and for some added texture, I ran the grey oval through my Cuttlebug.  The paper is from the Black Currant pack from DCWV.  The brad and flourish is from Close to My Heart, the flowers from Recollections and the twine and brads are from my stash.

Here's a couple of peeks to the inside from each side.

Sorry that the pop up squares are showing!  Here's her gorgeous face up close:

Gosh, she sure does look sure of herself!

I love the sentiment!

Now make sure to hop over to Karal's blog and see her fabulous project she has waiting for you!

Devil Debbi for Sassy Studio Designs's Fabulous Freebie Friday!

Oh how I love Fridays!  Friday's are so fabulous over at the Sassy Studio Design's Paper Craft Planet group  that it's called Fabulous Freebie Friday!  Lindsay has outdone herself with another two for the price of none images this week!  Make sure to hurry over because these gorgeous babies are only available for 24 hours and then they're gone.  Regan, our fearless fabulous leader, challenged us to use texture with our little devil.   There's always an angel and a devil in every situation and this week I get to share the devilish side of things!  Let me introduce you to the Devil Debbi!

She looks too sweet to be devilish, doesn't she?  Well, she's the devil for sure!  She's so sweet she can talk you into anything!  She's colored with copics and I added Stickles to her dress, spear and tail and Glossy Accents to her boots.  Black boots are always trouble!  The flowers are from Recollections and the gorgeous crystal swirl is from Close to My Heart (Thanks so much, Bec!).  The lace is from Cloud 9 and this gorgeous paper is Black Currant from DCWV.  Just love this pack!  It's hard to tell, but I used my devine swirls cuttlebug folder on the black and beige paper and my Nestabilities to cut this devious thing out.

Here's a peek from one side.

I love this side because it shows the foil on the paper and how it reflects on the fabric.  Gorgeous paper, isn't it?

I showed a side view of her and here's the inside for my stamping sister, Judy!

Make sure to hope over to the group and see what the other Fabettes have in store for you.  I promise you'll be inspired and never disappointed!

Make sure to come back on Sunday for our blog hop we're going to have to celebrate now having 800 members in the group!  Believe me, they'll be some hot, sexy viewings, prizes and who knows what else.  It's theme is 50 Shades of Sassy so who knows what you'll find!  Have a great day and great weekend!
