Sketch Saturday - Que Sera, Sera

I've had the best time with Coco and all the other talented Design Team members at Sketch Saturday! Thank you so much for having me! It was such an honor to be the first Guest Deisgner and I know that whoever follows after me will have as good a time and be made to feel as welcome as I was. What a great sketch I had to work with!

I've had a hard week and I wanted to do something fun and bright and this Tilda with Hat fit the bill! You can pick her up from Summer at Roses on Paper. I colored her with copics and used "Que Sera Sera" paper from K&Company. I love the bright, vivid colors that come in it. I think this Tilda just pops off the page! I love yellow and orange together. They just make me happy! And I have to thank my best buddy, Lynn, for the idea of using the diecuts to make a bench or table. I have her to thank for the ideas of all the embellishments. I love you my friend!

I hope she brings some sunshine into your life today. I had such a blast presenting her to you. And Coco and you gifted stampers at Sketch Saturday, thanks again for a bright spot in my stamping life! You guys rock!

Make sure to stop by Summer's blog, If Only I Could Stamp, and check out her sweet blog candy. It's pretty yummy!

Young Love

Isn't young love wonderful? There's something about that first part of a relationship that has a sweetness and tenderness that doesn't usually stay. But it's so precious while it's there.

Kissing Edwin and Shy Kissing Tilda remind me of how sweet and precious that first part of young love can be. I wanted to keep them innocent and simple, nothing too complicated for them. They both are from the Love Collection that you can pick up from Summer's great store, Roses on Paper. I fell in love with them when I was them.

I colored them with copics and added some distressed inks to the background. I cut Edwin out and popped him up just a bit. I love this sketch from Katherina at Whiff of Joy. This is a sketch that I'll use over and over! The background papers are from DCWV's new Latte stack and I love the Prima flowers and Grapes and Leaves Dew Drops and Crystal Stickles. I also used SU ticket corner punch.

Let's all remember the innocence and simplicity that comes with young love. I wish it for us all at one time or another in our lives.

Try It Out Tuesday #7 - Miss Chief

You ever have one of those days when all you wanted to do was crawl up in bed and not get out? That was my day today. We had an unexpected snow storm, instead of staying home, we went in at 11:00. I wasn't feeling quite up to par and was cold to the core from shoveling snow to get my car out. And we didn't have any power. But I made it through. Now quite sure what tomorrow is going to being, but I'm pretty much ready for anything after today.

Now on to better things! Suzanne, our extremely talented Design Team Leader, gave us a 3 for 1 embellishment challenge for The Try It Out Tuesday Challenge this week for Follow Your Heart, Susana's Custom Art and Card Design's store blog. We were tasked with using at least three embellishments on our project and I think I did that with this one! Miss Chief caught my eye because she has that little devil tails and those pointed ears, but she's also got the sweetest, cutest look to her! She stole my heart. I colored her with my copics and layered her onto the new Journal Cards by Pebbles. I wanted to have something that I could make notes one, write recipes, jot down ideas I have for cards, just about anything and these are perfect! I layered it using some great paper from the Dovecraft Retro stack, and added some Kaisercraf Rhinestones to the corners. I touched her dress and hair up with some Pink Poinsettia and Coffee Shimmerz and added a Bazzill pink flower. and hanging from the flower, I had to put some charms by Blue Moon. I love how this cutie came out. And for $3.95 for a wood mounted stamp, that price just can't be beat!

Susana has a ton of new item in the store, including copic bundles, nestabilities, tiger eye pearls, and our own, Anki's Sweethearts for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, exclusively to Susana's store! Los of new things to spend your money on!

Make sure to stop over to the Follow Your Heart Blog and take a look at the other great creations from my talented Design Team members. And while you're there, please welcome Lynn Mercurio as one of our Guest Design Team members. And Aud, you rock for wanting to hang with us! Both of these ladies are so talented and gracious that I feel so luck to be creating with them!

Now I'm off to bed to see if I can warm up a bit. Enjoy!
