Underwater Scene, Syrena, and Happy Birthday to my baby girl!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.  I know I did!  I missed my girls but got to spend the day with my Mom, sister and nephews and their families.  I simply adore being around them and know how very blessed I am.  Today is not only Fabulous Freebie Friday over at the Sassy Studio Designs Paper Craft Planet Group, but it's my baby girl, Nichole's birthday!  Happy Birthday, honey!

When Nichole was little, she fell in love with The Little Mermaid.  Ariel was and is still her favorite princess.  When I was asked to create an underwater scene for this Friday's Freebie, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, especially when I saw that it fell on Nichole's birthday!  This one's for you honey!

I love this underwater scene and think you can use it for so many things!  I added Syrena from Sassy Studio Designs  and colored her like I could see my Nichole as a mermaid.  I colored everything with colored pencils and added some Stickles to the starfish and sand dollars.  I added some Glossy Accents to the bubbles and then sprayed Goosebumps on the background scene and Syrena.  Then I attached her with some pop ups and added some gems from my stash.  The flowers are from Recollections and the branches are from my Martha Stewart punch.  I ran the border through my cuttlebug Devine Swirls folder and sanded it with a nail file.

Isn't she just gorgeous?  I love Lindsay's designs!

Here's a view of one side.

Here's the other side.

I added a few gems on the inside. Make sure to head over to the group to pick up this gorgeous scene and to leave my Fabette sisters some love.  Remember this freebie will only be available for 24 hours.  Don't miss it!

The Joy of Giving Release from Sassy Studio Designs!

Sure hope you all have enjoyed the first day of our fabulous Joy of Giving Release for Sassy Studio Designs.  Haven't my designing sisters done a fabulous job with these wonderful images? I love our theme of vintage or shabby chic!  Sometimes that's right up my alley!

Christmas is my all time favorite time of the year.  It's the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus, when we celebrate our families, get to let our minds and hearts be childish, when we can believe that anything is possible.  I'll admit I still believe in Santa Clause and that reindeer can fly.  I love the thought of the North Pole being a total toy factory and filled with elves.  I've always been blessed with being around people who have unlimited generosity of heart and love and played into those magical thoughts.  When I got married, we tried to create a magical atmosphere around our home and the holidays for the girls.  One of our traditions was making a mix we called Reindeer Feed.  We took oats, glitter, and sequence and would give each girl a bag to sprinkle outside on the snow or lawn to make sure the reindeer could find the house and give them a snack while they were waiting on Santa.  Reindeer are really special to me during the holidays so I was thrilled when I was asked to present my take on Reindeer Pin Up!

Isn't she just gorgeous? She's colored with copics and Spectrum Noir markers, has gold Smooch on her jungle bells, some stickles on her tail and front and some glitter and Flower Soft on her costume and boots.  The papers and clip at the top are from my stash, the poinsettias are from Prima, the button and hatpin are from Basic Grey and the pearls and lace are from my stash.

This is the entire card.

Here's the side views of the inside.

Since I've been showing the insides, I can't let this one go by!  I love the bright, vintage glass balls and I remember these boxes.  What wonderful, shiny ornaments used to come out of them.

Make sure to leave a comment and then to stop by the Sassy Studio Design blog to get all the details on the great opportunity to win some of our release images!  I sure don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity of the magic of the season!  So fly over and check out all the details!
