Darling Daisy
Daisies just make you smile. There's something about them that looks so light and delicate, but they're really quite hearty. I think that's what I love about Darling Daisy. She looks hearty, curious and ready for some fun!
I colored her with copics and used corner rounders on the edges. I found a great sketch on Lord Have Mercy and used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #26 (MTSC26). I love this sketch and I'll be using it again! The beautiful paper is Le Stripe and C'est Mangnifique by Rhonna Farrer and I used Bella Baubles along the panel. The sentiment is from a Close to My Heart set, The Simple Things, that my son-in-law Christopher picked out for me himself for Christmas. Doesn't that rock?! The center of the flowers are flocked with Velvet flock, her dress is outlined and highlighted with the Clear Atyou Spica Pen and her wings are covered with stickles. You can pick up this cutie from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.
Make sure you visit The Follow Your Heart blog and our group at Paper Craft Planet. Great things are planned for both places!
Michelle is offering some really sweet blog candy, includig copics. Go give her a shout!
This hearty little baby made me smile. I hope she cheers up your day.
Faerie with Rose
Lately all I've wanted to do is sit and color. I've got some of the greatest stamps for my design teams and have had such fun just coloring. It's relaxing in an innocent way that I'd forgotten all about. One of my favorite Christmas presents was a package of crafting supplies from one of my favorite aunts. Crayons, a huge color book, construction paper, scissors, white paste, pencils, it was a dream come true! I would sit for hours and just color. When I opened my package from Susana at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, and found this beautiful faerie floating on a rose, I had to color her up!
Our Design Team was asked to create a card using black and white paper with a splash of color so I chose lime green as my splash. When I think of splash, I think of the drink 7-Up! So I went with the green of the bottle. The black and white paper is from the Fantasy package from Dovecraft. This paper is amazing and Susana's store is the only place you can get it in the US. It's a great size, 8x8, and fits any project. She's colored with copics and I've used Pink Poinsettia on her wings. Here's a close up of her.
I love how they glisten! The green ribbon is accented with Lime Scrapper's Floss and the corners are finished off with Oyster Bella Baubles, and Peridot Petals. I love how she came out. She's just so stunning all colored up.
For some relaxation, please make sure that you visit Susana's Store blog to see the other Design Team Members projects. They've done beautiful work! And for some fun, why not join us at Susana's Stores group over at Paper Craft Planet. We've got a lot of fun and chatter planned for everyone!
We all need to find something to relax us and take us to a happy, comfortable place if even for just a moment. I've found mine. I hope you find yours.

Shy Bear Carousel
Sometimes you just want to say, "Stop the world. I want to get off!" Things happen so quickly, people are short and ugly with you for things you have no control over and sometimes you just don't feel good. Shy Bear Carousel makes me think it's possible to get off of that merry-go-round that we call life, take that so needed breath to renew ourselves and then get back in the saddle again. And besides, he just makes me smile! I haven't seen one of these Shy Bears that Susana's Custom Art and Card Design carries that I don't just love!
He was a first for me because I colored him with distressed inks and I'd never used them before. I'm really pleased with how he came out. I think it's a bit much around the sky, but other than that, I'm happy with the little guy! I loved all the embellishments I could add to him. Susana just started selling the Bella Baubles and I used Oyster on the corners , mermaid and champagne stickles to his blanket and harness and used my Atyou gold spica glitter pen on his hoofs. Couldn't let him go without coloring him with coffee shimmers and using pink poinsettia shimmerz on his and the horse's ear and Sunflower on the pole. The floral background paper is from Dovecraft's Retro stack and you can only get this paper from Susana here in the states.
Here's a picture of the inside of the card. I love the finishing look it gives the cards.
I hope if there's ever a need, we all remember to get off that carousel and rest for a moment.
