Dare To Be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs

I am having so much fun creating with the new Follow the Yellow Brick Road release from Sassy Studio Designs!  We were challenged this week to use paper piecing over at the Sassy Studio Design Team blog and I thought my stomach was going to stay in my throat.  That was until I saw this fabulous Oz Sassy

I simply adore her and think you can do so much with her!  You can certainly color her like the traditional Oz, use her for a wedding or prom, make her red/white/blue for the 4th.  She's so versatile!  Me when I saw her, I thought of animals!  Doesn't she look like she'd be the greatest ring master?!

I colored her with copics and added a little bit of Stickles to her hat, jacket, vest, and shoes.  The kraft and gold card stock and the sentiment are from Stampin' Up and I embossed the gold paper with one of my gorgeous cuttlebug folders to give it some texture.  The frame and ovals are from Nestabilities and the ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

The sketch is from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  Love it and will use it a lot!  I used my soot black distressed marker to outline her pants, but it's kind of hard to see from these shots.  I don't usually paper piece very well, but I think these pants came out pretty good, even if I do say so myself!

I think she's such a beauty!  I'm going to be entering her in the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - embossing
Stamp n Doodle - Anything goes
Addicted to Stamps and More - markers
Bearly-Mine Challenges - Anything goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything goes
Use It Tuesday - Hoarders (Stampin Up cardstock!) and die cuts

Click on over to the Sassy Studio Design Team blog and see the gorgeous projects that my stamping sisters have come up with for your viewing pleasure.  I know I sure loved seeing them!  Join in our challenge and go do some paper piecing.  Pull out those scissors and get cutting and pasting!

Catch of the Day for The Digi Bells

I absolutely love me some mermaids and I think this baby doll is one of the cutest things I've ever seen!  I was watching an older movie and it showed some children's toys and they had the yellow and orange plastic shopping cart and it reminded me of my girls when they were little.  They would shop all over the house with that thing!  When I saw Catch of the Day, that cart brought back such fun and heart warming memories to me.  She's a cutie pie that's available at Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection.  I knew that movie was telling me it was time to color this cutie pie up.

My little mermaid is colored with copics and is covered with Stickles and Diamond Glaze.  The baker's twine is a gorgeous new color, Caribbean, from The Twinery.  I absolutely love their products.  Such gorgeous colors!  The papers are from an older BasicGrey pack and has some of my favorite colors in it!  The flowers are handmade and the branches are from a Martha Stewart punches.  The doily is from Wilton and the ribbon, buttons, and pearls are from my stash.  The layout is from A Die For A Sketch

I really love how her headband came out!

A couple of glimpses of the inside.

Isn't she just so much fun?

Here's a view of the inside.  Can you see why I love this paper so much fun?

I have the pleasure of introducing you to Evanora Sassy, who was a good with but got the house dropped on her!  Little is known about her so I took some liberties with her.  Our theme for this release is Wicked Statement. I saw a clip from the movie and Evanora was talking with Theodora and said the most profound statement that I think somehow speaks to us all!

Isn't she just fabulously sassy?  I love all the images in this release but she really spoke to me!  I thought I would give a circle step card a try and the tutorial I followed can be found here.  This sassy beauty is colored with Copics and covered with Stickles.  Her frame and the swirls are from Spellbinders, the jewels are from Reccollections, and the papers are from my stash, except for the glittery swirls, which is from The American Paper Company.  I made the flowers and the branches are from Martha Stewart.

Here's a closer look at this beauty.

I think she's stunning!  I really loved the multi colored rhinestones and think they matched her perfectly.

Love this sentiment and if we all are honest, we all have a little wicked in us!

Here are a couple of side views so you can see the simensions of the flowers.

I am going to enter this sassy thing in the following challenges:

2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Flowers for Spring

One Stop Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

Inspire Me Fridays - Always anything goes

Now go on, follow the yellow brick road!
