Green With Envy Blog Hop for Sassy Studio Designs

I love me some Sassy Studio Designs and am so excited when something different happens with them.  We usually have a release every month but due to some computer problems and time constraints, we're doing something different this time.  We're have a blog hop and the theme is Green With Envy and we're piling on the green!  If you came to me from Lori's blog, then you're on the right track. Wasn't her project fabulous?!   If not, head on over to our Sassy Studio Designs Blog and start from there.  All the details are listed but the jest of it is stop by each of the Design Team member's blogs, some today and then the rest tomorrow, and see what our favorite image is!  Leave a comment and each member will be chosing their favorite comment and that person will get that member's favorite image for FREE!  I can tell you from personal experience that this is a great way to get some of the images that are on sale in the store for FREE. Any who, here's my favorite!

For there, there's a toss up between the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars as my all time favorite movie series, and all for different reasons!  But oh, I do love me some Star Wars and Princess Leia is one of my favorite heroines!  I love her strength and that she can really take care of herself.  I went the the spring green colors for her and the pictures just don't do her justice!  Isn't she gorgeous?  And if you leave a comment, you stand the chance to pick her up for FREE!

I used the layout from the Little Miss Muffet Challenge Blog and I love it!  It's a keeper and I'm going to use it again!

Here she is a little closer.

She's colored with copics and has Star Dust Stickles on her dress.  I added some Diamond Glaze to her gun and lips.  The papers are from an older Basic Grey paper pack called Sultry and I love it!  I've been hoarding it!  I added some glitter tape to the middle and some swirls from Cloud 9.  I made the flowers on the corner and added some branches with my Martha Stewart punch and threw some Scrapper's Floss in.

Here's a couple of side views where you can see the dimension of the flowers and a peek to the inside.

Here's the inside.  I came up with the saying from the movie.  I'm sure after Valentine's Day, some people feel like saying this!

I'm entering her in the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffet Challenges (sketch)
Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge (colors)
Aud's Sentiments Challenge Blog (sentiment on the inside)
Chrisma Cardz Challenge (anything goes)
Craft Us Crazy (show us your favorites)
Hanna and Friends (pink and brown)

So now head on over to Debbie's fabulous blog and see what her favorite is!  Oh my stinkin word, you'll love it!  Happy favoriting!  Tell me about your favorite anything!  Make sure to stop back by on Tuesday, February 19th and see who ends up with this gorgeous image!

A Tasty Read for The Digi Bells

My daughter Nichole has me hooked on a series of books written by Cassandra Clare called Mortal Instruments.  I read the first one, "City of Bones" and am now on "City of Ashes".  She finds some good things for me to read!  When I saw this cutie, A Tasty Read by Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection, I had to have her and have been waiting to color her up.  I am posting her over on our Digi Bell Design Team blog so they can enjoy her.

I saw this paper by My Mind's Eye and loved the yellows and grays together.  They were so soothing and reminded me of Nichole.  She's eats really healthy and if anyone would read with an apple, it's her!  This cutie was colored with copics and Spectrum Noir markers.  The flowers are from Recollections, the swirls from Close to My Heart, and the pearls are from Studio 112. The branches are from a Martha Stewart punch.  Believe it or not, there aren't any stickles on this baby because for the first time in a long time, I thought she stood on her own!

Here's a close up of that gorgeous face.  I've been practicing my blending and I was really pleased with how she came out.

You can see the gorgeous paper a little bit better on this view.

I touched her edges and the white flowers up with some Scattered Straw Distress Ink and think it made them fit so much better!  I also distresssed the edges but they don't show up so well against the Kraft cardstock from Stampin' Up.

The paper was so pretty on the inside, I didn't want to cover too much of it up so I angled the writing area.

I hope you'll sit down and read a good book!  I'm always up for some suggestions so send them on!  Also please stop over at the Digi Bells Design Team blog tomorrow to see what gorgeous and inspiring creations my wonderfully talented design team sisters have in store for you!

And stop by my blog because The Sassy Studio Designs Design Team is having a fun blog hop and I'd hate for you to miss the opportunity to win a free image from them!  Stop by and see what all of our favorite images are!  Now go read!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs

Oh Happy Valentines Day everyone!  I love that it happens to fall on a Thursday because I got to do this fun project for Dare To Be Sassy Thursday over at Sassy Studio Designs!  For me, it doesn't get much better than creating something fun and sassy and get to eat chocolate too!  Make sure to stop over at the Design Team Blog and see what fun projects my designing sisters have come up to inspire you!  They never disappoint you!  Our challenge to you this week is to create something using White, Pink, and Red.  Should be easy for this week!

This gorgeous showgirl is Sassy Showgirl and you can find her here.  I adore her!  She's so stunning and bold and I've been waiting for just the perfect project for her.  I made her a little bit sweet, with it being Valentine's Day and all.

She's colored with copics and has stickles all over her!  I added some Diamond Glaze to her outfit and in person it looks just like satin.  I fussy cut her and adheared her to some pink shimmery paper.  This fabulous tube and box are from a Valentine's packet i got from my good friend Bek who sells Close to My Heart.  I got 12 precut boxes, tubes and a stunning silver glittery sheet of cardstock to help decorate her.  You can find Bek's page here.  It's hard to see, but I cut up the silver glitter paper and put it on all sides of the box.

I used some swirls from Cloud 9 and the little hearts are from K&Company.  Love their embellishments!

Here's a couple of views of it from the side.

This girl is so stunningly beautiful and versatile!  I think she'd be fabulous colored up in purples and golds for the Mardi Gras, or soft colors for Easter or spring.  And what about Red, White, and Blue for the 4th of July?  I think she totally rocks, but man, it was hard getting to photograph her because Allie kept getting into the M&M's!

Hope you join us over at Sassy Studio Designs and show us some of the love for White, Pink, and Red!  Would love to see what you come up with!  Happy Valentines Day friends!  Love you all!

I Love Me Some Stitching . . .

Today I wanted to share my sweet Curly Locks Kiki  from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection for the Digi Bells.  with you.  My first venture into the creative world was sewing and making my own doll clothes for my, well I won't tell you what doll because that would give my age away!  Let's just say that I sewed a lot by hand and on my Grandma's Singer push pedal machine!  Enough said about my age!  (I'm fiftysomething!)

This cutie is colored with copics and has some stickles and has some Diamond Glaze around her headband and trim along her dress and on her strawberry dish.  The flowers are from the Petite Blossom Spellbinders die and the pearls in the corner are from Studio 112.  I love the swirls from Close to My Heart.  They're just so pretty, one of my favorite embellishments lately!  The ribbon is from my stash and the paper is from Basic Grey.

This gives you a pretty good look at the dimensions of the flowers.

I was pretty proud of how they came out and how they look.  And here's the inside.  Pretty basic but I love this paper, the aqua and peach together is one of my all time favorite color combinations!

I loved working up this cutie pie and hope you enjoyed her!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'm off to do a little bit of stitching, but it's on paper instead of fabric!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Sponsored by The Cutting Cafe

It's time for another Tuesday Throwdown Challenge!  This week we are being sponsored by The Cutting Cafe and the challenge is simple, Anything Goes!  Can't get much simplier than that! Make sure to stop over at the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog for all the details of the Challenge.   There were some fun images and I chose to go with the fabulous clock that you can find here:

I colored the clock with copics and added some stickles to the flowers and hands on the time dial.  The papers are from Kaiser from a couple of years ago.  The buttons and pearls are from Studio 112.  I cut the sentiment out and glued it to a banner type tag I cut. The lace is from my stash.

I like this side view a lot better because it shows the true colors of the paper.  I tried to make the clock look weathered and have a shabby chic look to it.  I tried to do a clean and simple layout but I don't think that's really my forte!

Here's a glimpse of the inside.

I'd love to see you join in with our challenge.  It doesn't get much easier than anything goes!  And stop over at our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog and see the fun projects that my design team buddies have come up with to inspire you!
