Scrappy Frog's Challenge Blog - Faeries!
What's more fun, beautiful and magical than the thought of a little sprite floating around and sprinkling some of their special charm around to make the world more beautiful and bright? That's what I thought of when we got our challenge issued to us for Scrappy Frog's Challenge Blog - do a faerie! Oh, you should see the gorgeous cards my fellow Design Team members have come up with. Make sure you visit the blog and take a peek and join in our challenge. What a sweet prize is waiting for some lucky sprite!
This sweet Butterfly Tilda is from the Chasing Butterflies Collection that you can pick up from Summer at Roses on Paper. I just adore her and can just see this baby floating around in the woods around my house, readying those gorgeous Lady Slippers getting ready to bloom for us. I colored her with copics, added tons of Stickles and used some Round Center Kisses in place of brads and for her antenna. I just love her!
So go chase some faeries or welcome them into your garden. They add life, color and fun to every aspect of this time of the year!

Wedding Invitations and Stamp Out Alzhemers!
Here's a couple of pictures of what I've been working on and why I haven't been stamping. My Nichole is getting married and has finally come up with a wedding invitation she loves so I've been great friends with my Making Memories cutter and my Scor-Pal! On the right hand side of the inside will be where she puts her information about when and where the wedding is going to be and the left side is where the RSVP card and envelope will go. I think they're very beautiful and elegant and clean looking but I'm having the hardest time with figuring out the best way to put the slit in the side for the ribbon to go all the way around. Any help or suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. And in the corner of the front cover, you can get a glimpse of my card for Scrappy Frog's Challenge Blog for tomorrow! It's going to be great fun!
Now to a more serious matter. One thing I wanted to do this year was give back in my time and resources to things that are important to me One thing is Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. We had our event last weekend and I'm glad to say that everyone walking was served hotdogs, salad, pizza and pancakes and no one went hungry! That was such a great feeling to be part of the committee to plan that important event for our local area. That brings me to my next venture and topic. Alzheimer's. It's such a sad, horrible disease and it robs so many people of the essence and spirit of their loved ones. It truly breaks my heart for those who have family members who are going through this journey. So please note the link on my side bar about a really wonderful event taking place to help Stamp out this horrible disease.
Starting next week, a fabulous event be happening (May 25th thru the 31st) for Alzheimer's. It's called Stampin' Out Alzheimer's and will be a huge challenge and contest site all next week to raise money for research & funding for Alzheimer's. How better to put our skills in this craft to use than by participating in this challenge. I remember growing up in West Virginia and spending time with my precious grandmother, Mommy Walsh, and seeing her take care of her mother who had Alzheimer's. Granny would just up and roam off and not know where she was or any of us. I made a game of going to find her but little did I know of the heartbreak my grandmother went through or the energy she spent and the love it took while she was taking care of Granny when Granny didn't recognize her any more. Back then they would say she was just old or her mind was just gone. Now this behavior has a name and I'd love to see this name fade because a cure was found for Alzheimer's. The cost to enter, play & win is $5 a person (good for the entire week) and we'd love to have you join us. Susana's store is hosting a sketch challenge & the prizes include an entire set of Victoria Case for SCACD stamps (9 stamps), a pack of Dovecraft paper & some fun embellishments. You can check out the site & join up by clicking on the link/widget on my sidebar!! And tell your friends too!!

Try It Out Tuesday #19 - May Flowers
It’s Tuesday so that means it’s Try It Out Tuesday at Follow Your Heart, Susana’s Custom Art and Card Designs store blog! This week Suzanne, our super Design Team Leader, charged challenged us with using flowers. Well, I can do flowers!
I look out my window and I see some green and brown, but not much color. The weather here in Maine is so strange that you never know when to expect some color to come up. So I made my own! I used “Dear Diary” one of the new adorable stamps from Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD), exclusively at Susana's store! I just adore her! She is from the first series entitled "The Hearts and Hugs Collection" and there are also ten Susanaments that just match this new line so perfectly.
She's colored with copics and I used some Azure Smooch on her dress, Shimmerz on her butterfly in her hair and some Flower Soft along the trunk of the tree. Don't you just love that gorgeous Petaloo Mulberry Wild Rose on top? And everyone knows how I love the Retro Paper Pack from Dovecraft, also exclusively at SCACD! Who couldn't get lost in reading and dreaming in your own private garden?! I used to write in my diary along the banks of a creek in our small town when I was growing up in West Virginia. You can go anywhere when you have your thoughts with you!
I hope you enjoy our little bit of flowery spring time being brought to you! Make sure you stop by the store blog and see the other wonderful cards my fellow DT members have in store for you!

Roses on Paper DT Challenge - Boy Card
It's Monday and time for a new challenge over at our Roses on Paper Design Team Blog! This time, the sweet and extremely talented Peta challenged us to create a boy card - no stickles, glitter or frill. Do you know how much of a challenge that was for me? While it was difficult for me, it was so refreshing!
Edwin, Is This Your Egg was from the Easter Collection from Magnolia. You can pick up your Magnolia stamps from Summer at Roses on Paper. She's got such great stamps and wonderful service! I followed the sketch from SCS and used several cuttlebug folders to give some texture to the different layers. I colored Edwin with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used some scrapper's floss on the buttons and stamped hope on a wooden button. The inside says "you have a eggstra special day!"
This Edwin reminds me of the few times I spent on the farm where my mother grew up. I used to watch my cousins go out and collect eggs. I never had enough guts to actually try and take eggs from a chicken. I was always too afraid to get my hand pecked!
Make sure you stop over at our blog and take our challenge. My design team sisters are so talented and I'd love to have you see their gorgeous creations! And there's a great prize for some lucky stamper that I'd hate for you to miss!
Card Recipe:
Ediwn, Is This Your Egg from Magnolia, The Simple Life sentiment set from CTMH, Scrapper's Floss, buttons, brads, Debbie Mumm Nursery Set Paper Stack.
