Daisy Scattering Love from Elphine House Austraila

I could make all kinds of excuses for being absent, but sometimes life and family happens.  Have had a sick granddaughter on my hands and had a relapse of the flu.  Haven't been having much fun, that's for sure.

Things have settled down and I think I'm back on track again and felling pretty settled.  I remember when I was little, I had to complete all my chores before I could play or read and this sweet Daisy Sprinkling Love from Elphine House Australia, from one of my favorite artists, Elisabeth Bell, just reminds me of that work ethic my mom and dad instilled in us.  Work before play or pleasure!

I made this image into a bookmark for a really special little girl.  I'm trying to entice her into reading more and thought something with ribbns and buttons might help her keep her place.  She's colored with copics and added some Stickles to her apron, ruffle on her dress, feed, and that sweet chicken.  The papers are from Graphic 45 (my favorite paper company!), the buttons are from Close To My Heart, the bakers twine is from The Twinery, and the lace and pearls are from my stash.

What a gorgeous image she is, don't you think?  She reminds me of those sweet farm girls who get up at o-dark-thirty to get her chores done and doesn't even question it.

Hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed making her!  Now I hope she's not too thick for her books!

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorships!

Gotta apologize for being so late in getting this up.  I thought for sure it was set to be published but ended up in my drafted section.  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring two really great challenges this week.  One is for ATC's With Attitude and their theme is spring.  The other is Chocolate, Coffee and Cards and they had a gorgeous picture for inspiration.  I decided to combine them and use Cowgirl Debbie and think she rocks!

This was my first ATC that I've ever done and it was pretty fun!  She's colored with copics and has Stickles on her hat band, gun, top, gloves, and boots.  The papers are from DCWV All Dressed Up and I thought they were perfect for this sassy cowgirl and to compliment the inspirational photo.  Here's a pic of it:

Here's a couple of side views of her.

I added a different card stock to the back since I didn't want it to just be white.

I had a lot of fun playing along with both of these challenges and think I may look for some more ATC challenges.  A new fun experience!  Come on over because there's still time to join in the fun challenges!  Take a walk on the wild side.  My Cowgirl Debbie will protect you!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Sponsored by Little Darling Rubber Stamps

I am so excited for this week's challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown!  I get to not only present one of my stamps that I've had and was so excited to work with and to try a new technique!  Our sponsor this week is Little Darling Rubber Stamps, which I totally love, especially their Cutie Pies line, and we were challenged to use Fancy Folds.  Little Darlings Rubber Stamps has some of the cutest rubber stamp lines that include Little Darlings, Cutie Pies, Saturated Canary, Liseth by MilkCoffee, sentiments, and some gorgeous papers.  I had an absolute blast coloring my image up and can't wait to show her off!

This little cutie pie is called Holiday Happenings: Darling Girl and I made a diamond origami fold card for her.     Isn't is gorgeous?  It was so easy and you can find the instructions here.  This is a picture of the front of the card.

I added some homemade flowers to the front with some Scrapper's Floss and branches from my Martha Stewart punch.  This gorgeous paper is from K&Company and it didn't break when I pressed the folds sharp.

This is a closeup of this baby.  Isn't she just adorable?  She's colored with copics and I added some Stickles on her headband, stockings, and the bands on her sweater.  I added a little bit of Diamond Glaze to her eyes and think they make them look so big and sweet!  Nestabilities were used to cute out her an the frame and I brushed some distressed inks along the edge of the image to soften the lines.  The pearls are from Recollections.

Thought I'd show you the two front diamonds up close.

This paper is so soft and restful and springy and summery that I just had to use it!  Have you ever just felt compelled to make something special with a sheet of paper?  I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has ever thought that!
