Gosh, I think she's the cutest little thing!

Try It Out Tuesday #21 - Invitation for Tea

It Tuesday and that means it's Try It Out Tuesday at Follow Your Heart, Susana, of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design's store blog. This week, the ever talented Suzaanne Dean challenged us to create an invitation. I received this gorgeously adorable "Tea For Two" from Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD) and knew3 shed be perfect for this challenge and for an invitation to tea.

I followed the sketch fron Mojo Monday and loved it! I colored her with copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS and highlighted her with Liquid Pearls, Smooch, Glossy Accents and my spica glitter pens. I added some Shimmerz to the butterfly and some Velvet Flock on the sunflower. I added Flower Soft around the bottom and don't you just love those Mulberry flowers? The paper is from Creative Imagination and I picked up the charms from a new scrapbook store I found. I just love this beauty and hope you enjoy her also.

Card Ingredients:

Tea for Two from Victoria Case for SCACD, Smooch, Flower Soft, Mulberry Flowers from Petaloo, Liquid Pearls, Velvet Flock from Doodlebug, charms, ribbon, Paper from Creative Imagination

Roses on Paper Color Challenge - Pink, Green and Yellow!

I seem to be apologizing a lot lately for not posting. I work at a boarding school and one of my jobs is to set up the Baccalaureate Ceremony at the end of the year.
Doing that and then trying to coordinate everything else that goes on with the end of the year and with grades and scheduling didn't leave me much time to create or blog. I'm hoping to take a couple of days off this week while teachers are doing their thing and catch up and relax. We'll see.

It's time for another Challenge over at Roses on Paper's Challenge blog and I get to host it this time around! I hope you'll all play along! It's a color challenge and I chose Pink, Green and Yellow, some great fun spring and early summer colors. Most of my ingredients for my card you can get at Summer's store, Roses on Paper. When I think of the pretty flowers and fresh air, Rose's Garden from Sarah Kay just jumps to my mind. I love all the sweet flowers and her little kitty walking along side her. But to me the cutest thing about this stamp is her sweet bare feet! A girl after my own heart!

I colored her with copics and used some of my spica glitter pen in her hair and on her cute top, hoping that it looked like a bit of fresh dew. I used Glossy Accents on the pebbles along her path and some Smooch on the middle of some of her flowers. My cuttlebug folder, Fanciful Flowers, added some dimension to the top of the card and the paper is from the Spring DCWV glitter stack. Love those pink dandelions! The pearls are from the new Opaline Pearls Collection from BasicGrey that Summer now carries and the flowers are from Prima. And yes, I added stickles to my flowers. It just makes them sparkle.

After the Sunday I had, I needed to do something bright and cheery that connected me and my girls to my mother. So for a change, this card is for me and my girls! God gives us flowers in our lives to reminds us of the beauty that he has waiting for all of us and for a sense of renewal. So, to my girls, Nichole, Tiffany, Jennifer, Emma, and Allie, remember that there is joy and beauty to be found in flowers, despite the thorns that come with some flowers. I love all of you very, very much.

Make sure you check out the blog and participate in our challenge! Summer has a sweet little prize for our random winner! And make sure to swing by my fabulous design team sisters blogs to see their fabulous creations as well. You can find their e-mail address on my sidebar. It's great to be back!
