Thrilled to the gills!!!

I just wanted to share some great news. Susana at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design has asked me to be a permanent part of her Design Team and I said YES, YES, YES! I adore her and everything she has in the shop. And who wouldn't want to be part of a design team that had the likes of Suzanne, Lynn, Anki, Christine and Danni? I've had a blast with them and can't wait to see what the new year brings.

Make sure that you don't forget the Promo Susana has going on right now!!! If you purchase any 4 regular Lockhart Stamps (any combination) from either the New or Previous collection (NOT including Itty Bittys) you will get to select a free IB from the selection that she has available at the time at her store. You do not need to buy all 4 at once. She has a punch card system and will let you know when you hit the 4 regular

I want to be . . .

part of your world. Everytime I see or hear of a mermaid, Ariel comes to mind and that sweet little song. For some of us who have had daughters that have played out their Disney's "The Little Mermaid" VCR tape or DVD, it might not sound so sweet. My Nichole is still the biggest Ariel fan around. As much as I love Tink, she loves Ariel. But who wouldn't want to be young, beautiful and thin and be able to swim around in the ocean and feel the warm sun on you as you relax on a rock. Oh, yes, while we're expecting more snow, I'm so wanting to be part of Ariel's world right now!

Tilda Mermaid is a stamp that's very special to me. You can pick her up from Summer at Roses on Paper. Two people who I dearly love sent her to me and I've held on to her because I wanted to find just the right paper for her. When I saw these pastel bubbles at Joann's and found this beautiful underwater scene in the Fantasy pack of Dovecraft paper from Susana, who is the only person in the US that carries this lucious paper, I knew it was time to stamp her up!

Speaking of twos, what I love best about what I'm doing for Summer and Susana is that I get to work with two really great, talented design teams, do cards using the greatest products from two of the greatest online stores of two of the greatest ladies around! I love that they don't mind when I combine their products for a great card!

Hey Don't forget the Promo Susana has going on right now!!! And take a look at The Greeting Farm stamps that Summer is going to be carrying. They are just too cute and she's got a pre-order going on.

Wouldn't it be nice to have such a carefree and whimsical life? I could take it for about a lifetime! Have a great day!

Recipe: Tilda Mermaid from Magnolias at Roses on Paper, copics, Shimmerz in Pink Poinsettia and Opal, Crystal Stickles, nestabilities, Fantasy Paper from Dovecraft, DCWV glitter paper, ribbon, sea shells, SU pastels.

In Hot Water!

It's that time of the year when chicken soup just sounds perfect. You can have it for lunch, dinner, or just a snack. With all the colds, flus and viruses going around, it's the perfec remedy. Plus it's one of the things that I can make!

In Hot Water is from the Lockhart Stamp Company and you can pick this poor thing up from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. She's got a great promotion going on right now that for every 4 regular Lockhart stamps you purchase, you get a free Itty Bitty Stamp. Can't beat a free stamp! Plus there's a huge promotion going on over at PCP at the Fans of Karen Lockhart group. Stop by and see!

I love that you can see the vegetables and broth floating around this poor thing. I stamped him on a tan card stock and colored him with copics and Prisma colored pencils and OMS. Then I masked him and stamped my old SU Recipe Card Set and layered the card onto red card stock. I used a tab punch I picked up at Big Lots for the top and punched it out of the great plaid that comes in the DCWV new "Animal Crackers" stack. Pretty quick and easy but so cute! I love how it came out!

This year I plan on making recipe boxes with my favorite recipes for my girls for Christmas next year. If you've been to my house for dinner, you'll know that it will take me that long to come up with my favorite recipes that I make! A cook, I'm not, but I sure can whip up some recipe cards! Hope everyone stays safe and only needs chicken soup because you love it!

Dusk and Dawn

I feel like I go from dawn to dusk and then back to almost dawn. If it's not at school, it's at the bowling alley. Go, go, get this done, get this done. I wish I could sit on a cloud like these two beaties and rest. Just soak up the sun, moon and the stars and just be for a bit. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

These cuties are called Dusk and Dawn and can be picked up from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I stamped them on GinaK's new 120 lb Luxury Card Stock and colord them with copics, opal shimmerz, Pearl-Ex and used my Gold Atyou Spica Glitter Pen and Gold Glitter Dots. The paper is from the Once Upon A Time stack from DCWV. I wanted to leave them simple but elegant and I think the swirls in the corner help achieve that.

Some of us were talking about our pets so I thought I'd share my Hagrid with you. He's half Bichon and half Yorkie. He looked so good all curled up in a ball that he's made my eyes droop! He's a great little companion and loves me to distraction. He's silly and fun and I lov him as much as he loves me!

I wish rest, peace and unconditional love for us all!

Roses on Paper DT Challenge #3

We're expecting more snow here in Maine in a couple of days. While sledding is more along my tastes if I have to be outside, most people up here love to snowboard or ski. My good friend, Lynn, takes a couple of the students she teaches to one of our local ski resorts every Sunday in January and sits inside the lodge and either knits or cross stitches while the kids are given lessons and skis. She's trying to figure out how to stamp this year but that's still a project in process! I think this could possibly be something like what her view at the slopes would be from where she sits.

I'm hosting the The Roses on Paper Design Team challenge for the next two weeks and the colors are white, evergreen and grape. The winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to Roses on Paper where I got my Magnolia stamps. You can find all the details on the Design Team Challenge Blog. Make sure you stop by the other Roses o Paper Design Team blogs to see what they've done with the Challenge! Their blogs are listed on my right sidebar.

I used Tilda Skiing, Edwin Skiing and Spruce Background, Shamrock Green Flower Soft, and Grape and Leaves Dew Drops. The white specialty paper is from The Paper Company and the green leaves is from the new Animal stack from DCWV, and my SU ticket punch.

Hope you enjoy them! I'm off to get my hot cocoa and then off to work after a very busy holiday break. Hope everyone is having a great 2009!
