Happy 5th of July!

Happy 5th of July! I know it's a day late, but I tried all day yesterday to pull my images over but it just didn't work. So rather than keep at it and get frustrated, I went and colored.

The 4th of July is such a fun holiday. I love the barbequing, apple pie, baseball, picnics, swimming, fireworks, all of it! It's one of the few holidays that family and friends can get together and there's no pressure from either side. It's the middle of the year, usually beautiful weather, and a time to celebrate our country's independence. When I first joined the navy, I was stationed in Washington, DC and a group of us got some blankets and coolers full of sandwiches and other things and went down to the lawn of the Washington Memorial and had the greatest time! We saw the Beach Boys perform and watched the greatest fireworks I'd ever seen.

These pictures are of a project I did for Dawn from the Hanna yahoo group I belong to. We had a challenge where we had to create a project based on three pillows that Kristi chose. I picked the pillow that had a diagonal design to it. I've got to apologize because the picture looked like it was black and white so I thought the navy and white would be a close enough combination. After I had everything done and in the mail, I think the pillow is blue and brown! All the papers are from DCWV, one their summer pack and the other an older mat pack. I stamped Hanna from the Patriotic Mini Set and colored her with my Tombow markers. I used some red and white gingham, white grosgrain ribbon and navy blue rick rack. I put some pack of Crystal Lite in the tin and I loved doing the mini clipboard. I used doodlebug brads and the clip is from Tim Holtz. The scallop and circle punches are from Paper Maker. Dawn, so sorry they were late getting out, but I hope you enjoy them.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and had safe and happy celebrations! Long may her flag wave!
