Dress Up Anya and Ian

Meet Anya and Ian all dressed up! You can snatch these sweeties and their wardrobe up from Summer at Roses on Paper. You can also get all the products highlighted from Summer. Check them out!

I love paper dolls. I can't count the number of hours that I spent meticulously cutting them out and dressing and undressing them and coming up with all kinds of adventures for them to go on. My grandmother used to get McCall's Magazine and she used to save all of the Betsy McCall's for me. We would make a special time between the two of us and and I'd go next door and she'll pull that month's doll out and would sit and talk to me as I cut her and her outfit out. Oh, that was such a special time for me because I adored her and any time spent with Mommy Walsh was special to me.

These were so much fun to stamp and color up! I colored them with Distressed Inks and the card, or stage as I used to call it, is a beer coaster covered with a solid paper. I used peach for Anya and aqua for Ian. That way the clothes show up a bit better. I ran the paper through my cuttlebug for some depth. I like the texture that it added to the background. I placed a small BasicGrey Magnet on each side of the card and on the back of Anya and Ian. That way they can stay on the card! I also placed one backing of the magnets on the back of each set of clothes. Makes them almost like the cling foam type dolls!

And here's a picture of the babies in either their undies or swim suits. You decide!

These would be a perfect surprise for a little girl or for a big girl who wanted to revisit a sweet time from her youth. I had such a great time with this set and I've got 6 or 7 people who I think need this diversion. I'm off to make some more! Have a great Saturday!

Oh, and a very talented stamper, Sonia, accidently deleted her blog. Here's her new blog and it would be great if you could stop and leave her some love!

Card Ingredients: Dress Me by The Greeting Farm, Dress Me Wardrobe by The Greeting Farm, Distressed Inks, Prima Flowers, Dew Drops, pearls, cuttlebug divine swirls and argyle folders, Stickles.

These are great, take you back to your childhood. I remember cutting out the dolls from first Twinkle and then onto the "big" girls comic, Bunty. Showing my age now.
thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. Have a great weekend.

So cute, this reminds me of when I was little and playing with paper dolls, changing their clothes. Those were the days! I think they did have ones with magnets in the past, but not too many. TFS!!
Hugs,
Jodi =)
