Out of This World and some Whiff of Joy!

I love a man in a uniform! Can't resist them. But the thought of an astronaut sends me over the edge! When I was little, I remember sitting outside with my dad at night and I would lay at the edge of our small porch and gaze up at the sky and try and count the stars. Every child has done that. But I was lucky to be born in a time when the space program was just formulating and I was so excited about the possibility of space travel. How exciting to be off of earth and out in the vast outer space! I went as far as to write to my congressman and ask how I got into the space program. He wrote back and I'm the proud owner of some of the original NASA promotional information that was sent to those inquiring minds who wanted to know about getting into the space program. Well, actually my mom still has it. That and my Chatty Cathy doll, but that's another story! I wanted to go up so badly and still would love it. Every space movie that comes out, I see. Love it!

Space Ian from Summer's great store, Roses on Paper, is from The Greeting Farm line (gosh, I adore this line of stamps!) and I had to make him up! I used a glitter pen around his shield and used Glossy Accents to cover his face and I love how it turned out. Looks like you could knock on his shield and never touch his face! I added a moon and embossed the star background to give it a bit of dimension. I colored him with my copics and love how he came out!

And then there's Spring, on of my favorite seasons! I love when everything goes from white, grey and brown to green, pink, lilac, and yellow! Here is Willow with Flower Basket from the new Spring Collection of Whiff of Joy. I've had her done but haven't had the opportunity to put her together yet. I was organizing my craft things and found the small pack of paper from Making Memories called Sabrina and it was perfect. I colored Willow with copics and used Glossy Accents on her band and isn't the Flower Soft just perfect for her basket? I used Bella Baubles on the corners and some ribbon from my stash. I wanted to keep her as non fussy as possible and just show her off!

It feels good to be back and I hope everyone has a great day, be in dreaming of space or of the new spring season we're trying to get to!

Try It Out Tuesday - Catherine the Vet

It's been way too long since I've been visiting with you all! Sorry I've been gone, but my mom's been in the hospital, I've been working more at my part time job and I spent the weekend stamping at Stamp New England and meeting people I've admired and learned so much from on the web. I've been gone long enough though and I think Tuesday is a great day to rejoin the world of blogging.

Our Try It Tuesday Challenge passed down to us by our talented, ever fabulous leader, Suzanne Dean, for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD), was to create a card with a stamp from Anki's Sweethearts, illustrated by our very own Anki Bargman and sold exclusively through Susana, and use only two layers and two embellishments. Man, was this hard for me! I didn't realize how much I shimmerzed, stickled, flowered and glitzed up things until tonight. Well, Suzanne, I did the best I could!

I've loved Catherine the Vet ever since I laid eyes on her. She's just the kind of vet I'd love to have taking care of my Hagrid. I think the bandaide on the little puppy's behind is too cute! I love this adorable paper with doggie food from Bo Bunny that I've had in my stash. I've had it since I brought my Hagrid home. I gave the bottom of the card and the circle a bit of texture by using a cuttlebug folders and popped Catherine and her bag up with some dimensionals. I used some Scrapper's Floss in Tan as ribbon to hold the gold heart charm, just like my little Hagrid holds my heart.

Make sure you stop over to our Design Team blog, Follow Your Heart, to check out my other fellow Design Team buddie's creations. They're just fabulous!

I promise not to be gone so long from now. I've really missed spending time with you. I'll be back tomorrow to share some pictures from Stamp New England with you all. It was a great time!

Card Ingredients; Catherine the Vet from Anki's Sweethearts for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Scrapper's Floss, Blue Moon Heart Charm, Copics, Atyou Spica Glitter pen, cuttlebug folders, nestabilities, Bo Bunny Paper.

I'll be back!!!

I've missed spending time with you all but just want to let you know that I took yesterday off from posting because I was getting ready for Stamp New England! I'll be gone today and tomorrow with my great friends, Lynn and Molly B, and we're going to have the best time! I get to meet all kinds of stampers and talk stamping and learn new techniques and I just can't hardly stand it! I'll be back to tell you all about it and have lots of pictures to share.

And I'm especially excited because Susana from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and Summer at Roses on Paper have graciously donated door prises for the event! I'm so proud to design for both of them. But when asked they both generously donated to make this event fun and special for all of us. There are 35 stampers who are going to be so grateful for their generosity. Gosh I love you both!

Well, I'm off, but I'll be back!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! That little bit of Irish I have in me is coming out today in my stamping. I've had the best time creating in green the last couple of days! I've got a card for you today and I'm in love with this little cutie!

Our challenge for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design was to use any stamp we wished and use green and a neutral color. Here's my take on He's too stinkin cute sticking his head out of the basket of tulips! I colored the the challenge. Make sure you stop by our Challenge blog, Follow Your Heart, and see all the other great creations from my gifted and talented Design Team Sisters. I promise you'll not be disappointed! Tulip Shy Bear just captures my heart! image with copics and highlighted him and the flowers with Shimmerz and added some Metallic Dew Drops. I filled in the basket using Flower Soft. I think he's just adorable!

Isn't Tilda With Clover just the sweetest thing? She just came in today from Summer at Roses on Paper. I had to ink her right up. Make sure you stop over at pre-order these cuties I've got a couple others, but this is the only one I had time to work up tonight. I colored her with distressed inks and added Metallic Dew Drops and stickles on her. I Love the lucky horseshoe she's sitting on. She's just too adorable and looks too lucky! Roses on Paper Challenge with Picnic Time and Ally

What a beautiful weekend we had here in Maine, but with the exception of about 7 hours of it, my time was devoted out to others. I worked or slept! But I should be thankful that I'm healthy enough to work as much as I do and that I have two jobs. That's not normal for this time with our economy the way it is. But I'm not getting on a soapbox. I've got two great cards from my two favorite stores that I want to share with you.

Isn't Ally and her sweet little dog just too stinkin cute? She's another gorgeous Rubber Romance stamp from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD). This little pup is a lot like my Hagrid, but believe me, I look nothing like Ally except that my hair's straight! I followed the sketch over at the SCACD PCP group and used that beautiful Laura Ashley paper from Dovecraft that you can only get at Susana's. Take a look at it because it's luscious!

Picnic Time is another one of those sweet Sarah Kay stamps from Summer at Roses on Paper and Jodi, such a talented and sweet fellow Design Team Gal, gave us the challenge this time to use quilting on our cards. Now I quilt but there's one pattern I'll never attempt because of the curves and that's a Dresden Plate. Well, thank God for nestabilities because that scalloped circle gives you an instant Dresden Plate! I love the soft colors on her and I think the Porcelain paper from BasicGrey is perfect for this sweetie. Make sure you stop by our Design Team Challenge blog and take a look at the other gorgeous cards created by my other Design Team family.

Card Ingredients:
Ally by Rubber Romance, Picnic Time by Sarah Kay, Prima Flowers, Porcelain Paper and brads from BasicGrey, Kaisercraft pearls, Laura Ashley Connamara paper from Dovecraft, Bella Baubles, ribbon, nestabilities, copics, ribbon, spacers, hatpin.
