Tilda With Flowers

Nothing says spring like little girls and flowers. My girls always loved spring and flowers. My house used to smell like fresh picked and dead dandelions and we all had that yellow pollen all over our hands. And don't you just love all the new, fresh colors for spring and the smell of those new clothes? Oh, this Tilda with Flowers takes me back to those times with my girls.

Another thing that I love about little girls is their headstrongness when they start picking out their own clothes. That was both of my girls and if you've read any of my earlier posts, you know about my Nichole's love for her rubber pull up boots!

Tilda With Flowers is from the new Chasing Butterflies Collection from Magnolia. Summer at Roses on Paper has a few left and more coming in so hurry on over and take a peek at what's available. This collection is going fast and is too cute for words! I colored Tilda with Distressed Inks and the paper is from the Spring Collection from DCWV. Love them this year! I love the flowers on the paper and wanted to show it off as much as possible. Flower Soft is added for the flowers in the basket to give it some dimension. I put some buttons in the corner and used some Scrapper's Floss to accent the buttons. Kind of like small flowers! As for Tilda's boots, I added some Glossy Accent to make them shine. I think she's just precious!

With all the rain we've been having, I'm hoping for lots of spring flowers for little girls to pick. Now if Allie and Emma will grow a little faster, Nana will promise to have some dandelions in her yard for them to pick!

Card Ingredients:

Tilda With Flowers from Magnolia, Distressed Inks, BasicGrey Buttons from the Euphoria collection, ribbon from stash, Scrapper's Floss, Flower Soft in Summer Mix and Shamrock Green.

Questions and Changes

I don't have a card to share yet today, but I've been thinking about some things. I was home yesterday fighting with my allergies and before my Benadryl kicked in I did some major blog hopping. I've wanted to make a few changes to my blog and was wondering people's thoughts.

Most people keep their entries short and totally about the card. Some write a lot, kind of like I do, and tell about their inspiration for the card and a story behind it. I guess I'm kind of torn in doing a blog for my stories and cards and then doing a blog for just the quick and details about the card. Just know quite sure which way to go.

Any suggestions or input? I'd love to hear what you think.

Try It Out Tuesday #17 - Mother's Day

I don't know of a day that goes by that us mothers don't need our own little bit of whimsy to get us through the day. That and every now and then, a margarita!

With it being Tuesday, that means Try It Out Tuesday over at Follow Your Heart, Susana of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, blog for me and my designing sisters! Suzanne, our ever talented lead designing guru, challenged us with creating a Mother's Day card and a gift packet. I thought about my Tiffany and Jennifer since this is their first Mother's Day, thanks so much to Allie and Emma!

Fairy Kids with Birds from IBFS was perfect because it had two sweeties on it and they are playing with a hummingbird, my favorite of all feathered creatures! I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with copics. I highlighted them with Shimmerz and I may have gone a bit overboard, but to me, there's never too much shimmer or glitz! I used some Kaisercraft Pearls in the corners and Prima flowers with what else - stickles! I ran the background paper through my cuttlebug and love the added texture I got from them. The ribbon is from my stash.

This circular tin is actually Pomegranate flavor salt for margaritas and I loved the tin so much that I had to cover it! I love Sassafras and think she's perfect for the outside! I used nestabilities to cut her out and colored her with Prisma color pencils and OMS. I used stickles and Shimmerz on her and love the delicate tone it set for her. I added some Bella Baubles to break up the circles going on and added a ribbon. I love how she came out.

Make sure you stop over at Follow Your Heart and take a look at the gorgeous cards and gift packs my designing sisters came up with. I work with some of the most talented crafters out there and am proud every week to present Susana's works for you.

I'll be back to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day before Sunday, but don't forget to make something for a mother. Let's honor them this one day out of the year.

Card Ingredients:

Fairy Kids with Birds by IBFS, Kaisercraft Pearls, Copics, Shimmerz, Stickles, Prima Flowers, ribon, Cuttlebug dotted swiss and folage embossing folders, Sassafras by Faerie Song Art, Bella Baubles, Prisma color pencils, OMS, ribbon, nestabilities, Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black

Roses on Paper DT Challenge - Folder Card for Mother's Day!

It's time for another challenge over at Roses on Paper's Design Team Blog and our wonderfully talented Anki has challenged us to create a folder card with a Mother's Day theme. I put my own twist on a folder card. My card holds a gift card in the center and you had to fold it in two places so I'm pretty sure it qualifies! Make sure you stop over today to take a look at the wonderful creations and cards designed by my outstanding designing sisters!

I have the best mother in the world. She's caring, kind, dependable and is one of the best christian women I know. I can always count of Mom and I'd be so lost without her. She's a wonderful gardener and can make anything grow. She's had every kind of flower in her garden from time to time and I remember daisies being out around her vegetable garden. This sweeties so reminds me of mom. And she loves coffee so the gift card inside the card is perfect for her!

My sweet "Picnics of Daisies" is from Sarah Kay and you can get them from Summer at Roses on Paper! She's fabulous to order from and has very quick shipping. You can see the instructions for the gift card holder here. (I found this link on Suzanne's Dean's blog and have wanted to try it forever. Perfect time, I think!) I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS and the background paper is some gorgeous Paper from K&Company called Wild Raspberries. Love, love it and it's perfect for her! I put dew drops in the corners and on the Prima Flowers. I highlighted the flowers with some stickles and used some distressed stickles on the bows in her braids. I cut her out with my nestabilities and the sentiment inside is a rub-on from Joann's. I love how she turned out!

Card Ingredients:

Picinc of Daisies by Sarah Kay, Dew Drops, Distressed Stickles, Prima Flowers, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, nestabilities, ribbon, SU ticket punch, SU Word Windows Punch, Rub-on from Joann's.
