Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Sponsored by The Twinery

I  love using somne baker's twine on projects!  It's light, two-tones and adds such a fun, playful look to projects.  When I found out that The Twinery was sponsoring us over at Tuesday Throwdown, I was over the moon!  They have such a fabulous color selection and their twine is so soft and easy to work with.  Our challenge this week was to make your own background, which isn't one of my strong points, but I tried none the less!

I used this sweet stamp, Adorable Cinderella, from The Paper Shelter and she helped a bit with making a background!

I love her!  Isn't this twine just gorgeous?  I used Marigold and Tangerine around my layers to give them some color and add some texture to my card.  My little beauty is sitting on her bench on the side of the road, waiting for her ride home since she seems to have misplaced a slipper!  She's colored with copics and had some Stickles added to her dress.  The bling around her tiara and pumpkin are from my Jelly Roll glitter pen and the papers are from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean paper pack.

There's just something about this adorable face I couldn't resist!

Here's a couple of side views of her that I think shows off the twine.  I plan on entering her in the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe Crafts - favorite color combination (blue and orange!)
2 Sisters Challenge - blue and/or green

Come on over to our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog and show us how you can make fabulous backgrounds!  And take a look at the fabulous projects my designing buddies have in store for you.  They are truly amazing!

I Won!

When I was little, my cousins and I used to get everyone's crinlons (remember those with all the lace on them and all that starch so they would really stand out?) and play Beauty Padgent in the back yard.  My Aunt Jessie had like 7 or 8 steps on her back porch and that was our stage.  We would stand up on our tippy toes in our pretend high heels and walk up and down the steps, doing the light bulb wave and carrying branches for our roses.  What imaginations we had!  I still love beauty padgents and I've got a little 4 1/2 granddaughter who loves to play dress up and parade around in front of us!

I have to admit that I'm cheating on Lindsay and Elisabeth and have fallen in love with the cute, sweet images over at The Paper Shelter!  I kept seeing them and I finally took the plunge and bought some and am having a blast with them!  When I saw this beauty, I knew she had my name written all over her!

This is "I Won" and isn't she fabulous?!  I think she's so much fun and has all sorts of possibilities.  I love here hair, dress, purse, swseet statute and I think she looks like a total winner!  She's colored with copics and cut out with my floral oval frame.  The papers are from Katy Davis, and the flowers and pearls are from Hero Arts.  I added some distressed inks around the frame and added some stickles to her dress, statue, purse, and earrings.

I just love her sweet face!

This view you can get a better look at the coloring without the glitter.  I love my glitter and bling though!

I just adore her and am going to enter her in the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter Challenge - Make It Bloom
Craft Your Passion - Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend
Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes
Kaboodles Doodles Challenge - Spring
Make It Monday - Always anything goes

Hope you enjoy her as much as I loved working with her.  She's a winner!

Sweet New Girl from the Sunshine Set from Elphine House Australia

I may be a little ahead of myself, but Elphine House Australia has a couple of new cuties coming out from the Sunshine Set and I just can't help myself!  I had to use one of them!  So while I don't have a specific name for you, I'm giving you a preview of this cute pie!

Our challenge today over at Elphine House Australia Design Team has a theme of "Lace and Pearls".  If you know me, you know I love me some pearls and lace is right up there with one of my favorite embellishments!  Well, I decided to give this beauty a twist and used Baker's Twine as well my lace, but I hung tight with the pearls!

Isn't she a beauty?  I love yellow and orange together and thought pearls were so appropriate for her!  She's colored with copics and has some stickles in her hair, n her top, pants and I added some Diamond Glaze to the apples.  The paper is a beautiful pack from My Mind's Eye and the flowers and pearls are from Recollections.  She's cut out with my Floral Oval die from Spellbinders and the Baker's twine is from The Twinery.  I ran the layered paper through my BigShot (my poor cuttlebug finally died on me :(), and used my dotted swiss folder to add some texture to the panels.  I also used some Scattered Straw around the frame.  This layout is from The House That Stamps Built and I love it!  I'll use it pretty often.

Love, simply adore her face!  I think she looks so pretty and self-reliant, out there picking not only some apples, but some flowers to go with it!

I like the clean look of the inside.  And I love that Baker's Twine!

I am planning on entering her in the following challenges:

France Honey from Sassy Studio Designs

Just a quick post because the power has been going in and out for the last few days and I keep losing the internet connection.

I wanted to share my first easel card, France Honey, from Sassy Studion Designs, that I did for a challenge SSD is sponsoring for Brown Sugar Challenge.  They are looking for a step or easle card and I thought I'd finally try an easel card.

What fun I had making this!  I'd be making them for a long time if I knew they were this much fun and so easy!  I followed the instructions on splitcoaststamper and it was so easy I could hardly stand it!  She's colored with copics and I added some Stickles to her hat and top.  She's cut out and mounted on the floral oval die cut, and I added some swirls, all by Nestabilities.  The button and pearls are from Studio 112, the butterflies are from my Martha Stewart punch, and the flowers are homemade.  I love this gorgeous paper from My Mind's Eye.  Michael's has some beautiful 6 x 6 pads and I think I have most of them!  I love the greys and peaches together.

Here she is up close.  Isn't she just stunningly gorgeous?  I love that european look she has!

Here's a side of the card.

And this is a close up of the inside.  Gosh I had fun making this one!

Make sure to pull out your stamping and scoring stuff and head on over and join in the challenge.  Go have some fun!
