Scrappy Frog's Challenge Blog - Frogs!

I am late in getting this up but maybe it will be a good thing that you see it while you still have a week to get your entry in for Scrappy Frog's Challenge Blog. We were challenged to put a frog somewhere on our card in honor of our own Froggy!

I used a Pink Cat Studio set, this one is from one of the Billy sets, and you can get your Pink Cat Studio stamps from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I love all of their sets so look out because I'm going to be using a few more of them!

Billy is colored with copics and I used some Stickles and Glossy Accents on that cute little frog! The paper is from the Pets DCWV stack and the dots in the corner are from Colorbok and the ribbon from American Crafts.

Pretty simple but I can't resist a little boy and his frog! Reminds me so much of my nephews out catching tadpoles and little frogs in the back yard. Oh, gotta love those memories!

Make sure you stop by the blog and get your frog entry in! This is such a fun challenge to participate in!

Try it Out Tuesday #35 - Sketch!

I love working with sketches and Suzanne has given our Design Team for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design a great one to work with. It's so much fun to see what Suzanne is going to come up with next for us! This is what she gave us to play with:

And this is my Enchanted Lily and interpretation of it.

I have always adored Pink Cat Studios and was so excited when Susana started to carry them. I thought she would work out perfectly for this sketch. I stamped her with Tuxedo Memento Black and pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I do love my copics but am still building my collection so when I want a large range of color, I pull out my pencils and have some fun! I used some Smooch on the flowers and the band on her sweet dress and added stickles on her wings and a bit on Lily's dress and the flowers. I cut her out with my nestabilities and used my fun Junebug paper by BasicGrey and added some Dew Drops in the corner and Prima flowers. I used my distressed wood cuttlebug embossing folder to give her a bit of texture and MS's branch punch for some leaves. I am pretty happy with how she came out.

I love her beautiful face! What a sweet smile she has!

Make sure to stop by the store blog, Follow Your Heart, and see all the gorgeous ways my Design Team buddies have used this sketch and I'd love to see what you do with it!

Try It Out Tuesday #24 - Using Acetate

I love the sea and mermaids. And I'm loving Pink Cat Studios lately! When I saw this set, Under the Sea, at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, I had to have it! Mermaids, seahorses, coral, what could be better? So since it's Tuesday and Suzanne challenged us to use acetate on our card or project, This idea came to me. I thought I'd bring a little bit of the sea world to my room!

First off I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS. She was a bit too long for the aquarium (plastic container that some of my Debbie Mumm ribbon came in!) so I used my nestabilities to make a portrait of her. I used some stickles and Glossy Accents to make her look sparkly and wet!

I used some silver thread to suspend her and filled the bottom with sand and added a few sea shells.

I love this paper that someone gave me and thought the sea horse was a perfect backdrop for her.

I thought her face was just so beautiful and ethereal. I would love to know what she's thinking!

And here's a close up of her fins. I wanted her to look scaly but in a feminine way. I'm really pleased with how she came out.

Make sure you stop by our store blog, Follow Your Heart, and see what gorgeous things my design team pals have come up with. There's such a talented bunch that I just know you won't be disappointed! Hope you enjoy being under the sea!

Card Ingredients:

Under the Sea by Pink Cat Studios, stickles, Glossy Accents, paper and ribbons from my stash, sand, sea shells, nestabilities.

Homerun Billy and Katie the Makeup Fairy

It's summer and around our house, that means baseball! We're talking Red Sox baseball and that means dark blue and red. My daughter Nichole, and the kids in the house must go to four or five games a year. They get tickets from the sporting store they work at so hey, why not! They have the best time and what's more American than apple pie? Baseball! I love this Home Run Billy from the new "Sporty Billy Plate 1" just released from Pink Cat Studio that you can get from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I grew up on baseball and my grandfather on my dad's side was asked to play in what's now Major League Baseball way back when it was first forming. It's part of my life and I just love it. Everyone in my family has played either baseball or softball at some time in their life, but this cutie is for Branden, my son-in-law-to-be!

I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS and used some Glossy Accents on his helmet to make it look shiny. I added a bit of my Spica Glitter Pen to the umpire's mask to make it stand out and added a bit of Smooch to the bat and belt. Love that stuff! My paisley cuttlebug folder gave the background a bit of texture and I thought the ribbon looked like the seams of a baseball. And I used some Coredinations paper for around Billy and distressed the edges. Love that paper and how Billy came out!

And then there was another of my loves - make-up! My sister used to tease me and say that I couldn't go to the mailbox without mascara on! When I saw this cutie, Katie, the Makeup Fairy, on Katie's site, Paper Makeup Stamps, I had to have her! Besides, she reminds me of Katie, who I've gotten to know and love this past year. I colored her with copics and added some Shimmerz, Smooch, and stickles to her. I used one of my favorite floral cuttlebug folders to give a bit of dimension to the background paper and think she came out just too cute!

Hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

Card Ingredients:

Baseball Billy from Sporty Billy Plate 1 from Pink Cat Studio, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Smooch, ribbon, Glossy Accents.

Lily, Tweet and Bella and Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! Yesterday was a busy day for me. I got to spend a lot of time with Nichole doing some girly stuff and getting my nails and then spent the rest of the day with some me time, getting my hair cut and playing with Hagrid, watching a movie and stamping. It just doesn't get much better than that!

I love that Susana at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD) is now carrying Pink Cat Studio stamps! I love this Lily and Tweet. Looks like they're all dressed up for some shopping and girl time. These sweeties are from the Lily and Tweet plate. So stinkin cute! I used the sketch that Suzanne created for SCACD's PCP Group. Stop over and participate because there's a sweet prize at the 3end of the month! I colored her with copics and used some Velvet Flock on Tweet and the center of the flower and Petals on them both. Love the shimmer on the Glitter Spring Stack from DCWV.

My Bellas have been sinfully neglected lately so I pulled out Veggiebella and had some fun with the PCP Weekly Sketch. I love the bright colors and the hope of fresh flowers and vegetables. She reminds me of my co-worker, Mary, who like my mother, can make anything grow. Heck, she's even got me keeping plants alive!

I hope that everyone has a very Happy Mother's Day! It's a wonderful celebration of the women who sacrifice so much of themselves so that all of us may grow and become the best that we can be. Honor them not only today but every day. I'm going to try.

Card Ingredients:

Lily and Tweet from Pink Cat Studio, Bella Baubles, Kaisercraft Pearls, Velvet Flock by Doodlebug, Petals, Glitter Stack Spring Collection from DCWV, ribbon, Veggiebella by Stamping Bella, Prisma flowers, stickles
